Abstract

The renewable energy sources are playing an important role as the distributed power source in the world. Their utilization is difficult without the switching power supplies including the power conditioner because of their unstable power generation which depends on the environmental condition. Hence, the reliability of the switching power supplies is important in the renewable energy system. To realize high reliability, the degradation diagnosis estimating internal resistance for the dc-dc converter is proposed in this paper. The proposed method utilizes the value of integrator in the digital PID controller instead of on-time detection. As a result, the proposed method contributes the degradation diagnosis, fault prediction, and cost reduction of maintenance for the switching power supplies.
