Abstract
Over past years, field bus's introduction, improved control systems, and network connection has resulted in significant advances in data acquisition in industrial automation. In paper industries, the field bus is utilized as a universal element for network communication. The field buses can transfer both analogue and digital signals via a single wire. Using the superimposing technique, create an interface bus. Unfortunately, this method of signal transmission necessitates the use of buses, which take up a lot of space in factories. Wireless Local Area Network technology is being utilized instead of field buses for interfacing. Profibus and Ethernet are combined for communication in WLAN technology, resulting in profinet. This method of communication reduces the requirement for bus wires, allowing for more flexibility and excellent performance as an added feature. Configuration of Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) using WLAN technology through an engineering station, as well as wireless simulation of digital input and output with scalene module reduce the breakdown maintenance in paper industries over prolonged periods of time. It is a very feasible method to operate the field devices from anywhere within the engineering station.
