Abstract

This paper aim at design of computer automated garbage monitoring system in water terrain. Due to increase in the production of garbage and dumping it in the water bodies, affecting aqua animals and also human being who will either consume the water or resident around such water bodies. In this paper, authors designed an automated garbage monitoring system using image processing system. This system accepts images of water bodies and estimates the area of coverage of garbage in the specific area where garbage is accumulated and spread if any. It also notifies the percentage of garbage coverage via SMS and email so that concerned personnel can address it.
