Abstract

This paper proposes a zero-copy parsing approach for Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) to minimize SIP parsing effort, such that the parsing processes messages as octet-streams received from network to mark positions of message elements on the received data for further usage, without creating copies from that data. The proposed approach is implemented as an open source SIP parser and basic performance tests are conducted for comparison with oSIP open source SIP parser.
