Abstract

Gyro-travelling-wave-tubes (Gyro-TWT) is a kind of high-power amplifier of vacuum electron device. Magnetron Injection Guns (MIG) is an essential component of Gyro-travelling-wave-tubes. In this paper, a single anode MIG is designed and optimized with genetic algorithm, which electron beam with a pitch ratio of 1.27 and low transverse velocity spread of 1.97% is obtained. The influence of the mismatching relationship between electric and magnetic field on velocity spread is analyzed.
