Comparison of Three-Terminal Mesfet Varactor with Two-Terminal Mesfet Varactor in X-Band Tunable Active Bandpass Filter

Abstract

The concept of three-terminal MESFET varactor is presented and compared with the two-terminal type MESFET varactor. Both types of MESFET varactor are employed in an active bandpass filter to tune the center frequency of the passband. Tuning performances including the elecmcal tuning and the optical tuning are compared.
