Abstract

This paper introduces an application of the model-based system identification and control method, which was developed for the adaptive control of time-varying nonlinear processes. The control objective in this paper is steam temperature control of the boiler for power generation at the start-up stage, which is regarded as one of the most difficult ones among power plant controls because of strong process nonlinearity and dependence on the start-up conditions.
