Using the Relational Model as a Context for Treating Pregnant and Parenting Chemically Dependent Women

Abstract

SUMMARY This article presents a framework for looking at the lives of alcohol and other drug-dependent women within the context of their relationships with others. Included are a presentation of the Self-In-Relation model from the Stone Center for Developmental Studies at Wellesley College and an examination of chemically dependent women from a life-span, relational perspective.
