Here, a styrofoam is applied as the dielectric substrate to built the square patch antenna. Some parametric studies by changing the number of copper conductors are carried out to investigated the characteristics of artificial dielectric material. Abstract

An artificial dielectric material is investigated in this paper for the implementation on square patch antenna which has the advantage in antenna miniaturization. The proposed artificial dielectric material is configured using copper conductor which takes in a cylindrical shape.
