In multiple input multiple output system, a large number of antennas are used in the transmitting and receiving end as well. So a multiple number of RF chains are employed where each RF chain consists of analog to digital converter (ADC), preamplifier, mixer, power amplifier, automatic gain control (AGC), modulator, low pass filter (LPF), digital to analog converter (DAC) etc. In this paper, it has been discussed how the RF chain should be utilized in the receiving end so that without using all chains simultaneously the performance of the MIMO system will be better. Abstract
