Abstract

This paper presents application of flower pollination algorithm for solving multi area economic load dispatch problem considering tie line constraint, transmission loss, multiple fuel options, valve point loading effect and prohibited operating zones. Flower pollination algorithm is a nature-inspired algorithm, based on the nature of flowering plants. Intensity of the calculation is tried on three distinctive test cases comprise of fluctuating level of unpredictability and it is compared with artificial bee colony optimization, differential evolution, evolutionary programming and real coded genetic algorithm.
