Abstract

The major problem faced by car owners, while driving in the city is finding a parking slot for their vehicles. Most of the time, people waiting outside the parking lots are notified at the last moment about the unavailability of car parking. The objective of this work is to provide the real-time information about the number of free slots to the user, with the help of GSM messaging services, and also to automate the management of the Parking lot and tariff calculation by optical character recognition and time stamping. This significantly reduces the waiting time of the customers and also reduces the manpower required in the parking lot.
