On the use of single-sideband modulation for optical vector network analysis

Abstract

We investigate theoretically and experimentally the feasibility and the limitations of optical vector network analysis based on single-sideband modulation. It is found that the accuracy of the technique relies on a high suppression of the unwanted sideband.
