A CiteSpace-based Overview of Hot Topics in Chinese Linguistics Research (2011-2021)

Abstract

This paper retrieves the keywords of “linguistics and counts the relevant articles of Modern Foreign Languages in the past ten years from the database of China Knowledge Network (CNKI) and analyzes the keywords by using CiteSpace, a visualization software. Based on the visualization analysis, it can be found that linguistics research in China has basically formed a development trend of application-oriented research and interdisciplinary intersectional research in the past ten years, among which applied linguistics, systemic functional linguistics, foreign language teaching and cognitive linguistics are the main research hotspots in the field of linguistics in China in the past ten years.
