Abstract

Verification is a fundamental issue in many security based systems. Automatic face verification across aging is an important problem that has recently been added to the problem of face recognition. To address this problem, we propose the Pyramid Binary Pattern. This employs Local Binary Pattern along with its hierarchical information. The generated texture feature vector is reduced through Principal Component Analysis. Classification is performed with Support Vector Machine. Results show that our proposed method enhances verification accuracy.
