Abstract

Low latency handoff is critical for supporting delay sensitive applications on a mobile device. Recent advances in hardware technology have made it possible for mobile devices to interface with multiple networks of different types. In this paper, we explore how this "multihoming" feature effectively reduces handoff latency and corresponding packet loss. We present a number of strategies for link layer handoff.
