Abstract

This paper presents the voltage stability based weak area clustering technique in power system. The technique employed voltage stability and line outage contingency analyses. From the voltage stability analysis, the sensitive lines in a system during stressed condition are identified, while line outage contingency analysis identified the critical line outages. A pre-developed voltage stability index was utilised as an indicator to voltage stability condition of the system.
