Abstract
Determining the parties which are entitled to receive royalty for a commercial product such as music and songs is getting more complex in today’s world. It is necessary to acknowledge the moral and economic rights of the persons involved in creation of such objects, and therefore the need to register the copyright of a song is a must. In reality, many factors aside from the legal basis may affect to whom the rights will fall to. Therefore this study designs an expert system which help to suggest if a person is entitled to receive the royalty of music and registered in Indonesian Directorate General of Intellectual Property (DJKI), and therefore they can make a legal act if deemed necessary. The expert system employs predicate calculus and Bayesian theorem to construct the decision rules, and Iterative Dichotomiser 3 (ID3) as a production rule to calculate information gain from the decision tree. Experiment conducted with 120 song data samples shown the accuracy rate of 91.67% of suggesting the entitled parties for the royalty of a song. Thus this system may help parties in concern to ensure their claim on the moral and economic rights of the song piece.
