Abstract

An inhomogeneous DNG superstrate which not only is promising for directivity enhancement but also useful in beam steering by varying the position of the superstrate. The superstrate is made of tri-sectoral atoms exhibiting left handed characteristics along 3-directions which allow them to behave as quasi-isotropic elements. This isotropic behavior of the superstrate makes the field steerable up to ± 15° without hampering the directivity and gain of the antenna.
