Significance of colors and contrasts in the life of the visually impaired

Abstract

Implementation of the advances in all the domains of public life doesn't keep pace with the needs of the visually impaired. Therefor it is necessary to indicate these problems, that can be solved immediately, with advantage to visually impaired without special accommodations. Last times unprecise road traffic legislation can increase hazards to pedestrians in the streets, what pertains to many visually impaired. In these relations the visually impaired for whom the external world is seen without details, better perceives colors and contrast. There are presented some examples form the road traffic signaling and housing, to be modified without special difficulties and costs.
