Improvement of the hospital supply chain and its impact on reduction of patient waiting times. Case of the Oncology department of University Hospital IBN ROCHD

Abstract

This paper presents the development of a conceptual model to evaluate the impact of the improvement of the hospital supply chain on the waiting timeof the patients within the oncology department of the IBN ROCHD University Hospital (UH) in Casablanca. Through an empirical study using a survey submitted to a sample of 60 users of this department (patients, staff, etc …) and using the latent variable structural model by the PLS (Partial Least Squares) method via the XL-STAT software (Version 2017), we evaluate the proposed model in terms of reliability and validity, and concluded that the improvement of the hospital supply chain impacts positively the reduction of patients' waiting times throughout their treatment trajectory in the oncology department of the IBN ROCH UH.
