Abstract

: The leadership represents a “personalization of power”. The expansion of mass media communications (specially the television) led to the prominence of leader’s direct activities. Here we try to search the influence of the leader in the political life and his relation with political elites. The oscillations of the vote between different elections are better explained by temporal factors (as political valuation of the candidates or appreciation to the political party) than structural factors as social class. In sum, it is proved the influence of the leader as a decisive factor in the explication of the vote’s behaviour.
