Abstract
A theoretical comparison is made between the performance of the MMIC matrix and distributed amplifiers. It has been shown that based on the theoretical formulations, in some typical cases there is no noticeable difference between the gain of a matrix amplifier and that of cascaded distributed amplifiers with the same number of stages.
