Abstract
The aim of this paper is select the most appropriate hybrid energy system fueled by biogas from municipal solid waste (MSW) landfills. The paper provides some results obtained from the implementation of the MACBETH multicriteria evaluation approach for the comparison of five types of renewable energy technologies (RET) fueled by biogas. Besides, this methodology is also applied in the evaluation of three different types of energy storage systems (ESS) that could be used in a MSW landfill. Several criteria are used for the investigation: efficiency, cogeneration, lifecycle, environmental impacts and costs. Subsequently, the methodology will consider costs and environment perspectives.
