REPRESENTAÇÃO SUBSTANTIVA E GÊNERO: ATUAÇÃO PARLAMENTAR DE MULHERES NO PODER LEGISLATIVO NACIONAL (2003-2015)

Abstract

: This article deals with parliamentary representation in Brazil, considering the dialogue between the concept of substantive representation (PITKIN, 1972) and its implementation in three legislatures that took place between 2003 and 2015, with a specific focus on the performance of federal deputies. Guided by the analysis of a database systematized by one of the authors, the objective is to offer empirical subsidies to the analysis of the role of Brazilian parliamentarians in relation to feminist and women-oriented agendas. Our results point out both aspects related to the limits and the importance of female parliamentary performance as well as points relevant to the research agenda on the theme.
