Fantasies in the dynamics of the sexual deviance and offenses

Abstract

The article contains a review of research on the impact of fantasy on deviations and sexual offenses. It is divided into two main parts. The first one presents the views and results of research on the role of fantasy arising from the cognitive-behavioral tradition, while the second one presents the views presented by psychoanalysts. Efforts have been made to show that there are many convergences between these two ways of interpreting the impact of fantasy on skew and sexual offenses. In addition, the article emphasizes the fundamental importance of the regularities discussed in the textforan effective therapy. At the same time it showsa great difficulty encountered by a therapist who is trying to teach the patient to control his or her fantasies, as well as show them the necessity of this effort.
