Abstract

A new 3-/spl phi/ AC-to-DC single stage converter is proposed integrating a 3-/spl phi/ DCM boost with a DC-to-DC fixed frequency parallel resonant converter (PRC). This converter has the following features: natural power factor correction with the fast regulation, soft switching, HF transformer isolation with the resonant tank operating in above resonance mode, etc. A new gating control scheme is used for simultaneous control of boost converter and the PRC.
