Use of stand-alone and web-based systems for DNA analysis: Construction of an analysis environment for distant laboratories performing joint research

Abstract

This report provides some observations on the advantages and disadvantages of stand-alone environments and web-based environments for the construction and maintenance of analysis systems for laboratories that are engaged in joint research but are physically distant from each other. The knowledge and skills required to develop and use these systems are identified.
