Abstract

A novel predictive control for PWM rectifier is proposed in this paper. The algorithm is based on a step-by-step prediction of the converter variables, on the basis of the actual power request and operating conditions. In particular, the control algorithm carries out the converter modulation pattern, in order to achieve a unity power factor at the mains, and the required load power. Experiment results confirm the proposed control performances.
