Abstract

Optical single sideband (OSSB) modulation has been recently proposed to increase the spectral efficiency of next generation transmission systems. Contrary to other spectrally efficient optical modulations, simple electrical compensation techniques can be used together with OSSB to mitigate the impairment of fibre dispersion.
