The paper tries to explain the meaning of Sustainable Development and it tries to explore the extent of sustainability in this project which was undertaken in the mid-1990s. It tries to study the sustainability of the project on the parameters of Ecological Sustainability, Economic Sustainability, Social Sustainability and Institutional Sustainability. The paper attempts to highlight the success and concern in the area of sustainable development. This project adopted a holistic approach towards development. The paper explores the status of watershed several years after the completion of the project.
