Abstract

The paper presents the study and operating control of an progressive wave type ultrasonic motor (PWUM). The experimental study tracked the behavior of the PWUM in no load operation. Further, the experimental study highlighted the behavior under load conditions by determining useful power and useful torque. Also, the locked torque, for different rotational speeds was determined. Throughout the experimental study, the temperature of the PWUM was monitored by means of a temperature sensor mounted on its housing. Also, the experimental methods for the PWUM rotational speed changing are presented and tested.
