DOCPROS: a knowledge-based personal document management system

Abstract

DOCPROS is a knowledge-based system for managing personal documents. A dual-model is used to combine document representation and organization. This flexible and dynamic model allows users to specify how the documents should be interpreted, classified and organized. With the help of an adaptive knowledge base, the system understands the user's requirements and manages the documents the same way as the user expects. Document filing and retrieval are knowledge-based and predicate-driven. Document and information retrieval is very effective and efficient since the user knows how the documents are managed.
