Complex therapy of postpartum endometritis in cows using estrofantin

Abstract

Postpartum endometritis is a common pathology in fresh cows, the morbidity of which can reach 50% or more. The causes of endometritis include retention of the placenta and, as a result, placentitis, atony of the uterus, infection of the birth canal, etc. 19 fresh cows were examined, 7 of them were diagnosed with postpartum endometritis. The drug Estrofantin, the active ingredient of which is prostaglandin F2α, was used in complex therapy with the drugs Uteroklin-T and Metrostim-Bel. Animals recovered on the 13th day from the start of therapy. This protocol for the treatment of endometritis in freshly calved cows is effective, allows us to maintain milk production and minimize the economic losses.
