Polska polityka rowerowa na tle dobrych praktyk europejskich

Abstract

— ABSTRACT — Cycling policy is becoming a chance for Polish cities to solve one of the most acute problems: smog and high congestion. The aim of the article is to analyse the term of cycling policy and its elements which contribute to popularization of cycling and promoting it as a mean of transport for everyday urban mobility. The paper contains the analysis of measures implemented in the European cities, which have become successful and provide a set of good practices. Using this background, the cycling policies of Polish cities were analysed with their achievements, like dynamic growth of cycling paths as well as bikesharing systems, and shortcomings, like a lack of prioritising and comprehensive approach, and insufficient promotional activities of this mean of transport.
