In research literature, a number of automatic accident detection systems are proposed by numerous researchers. These include accident detection using smartphones, GSM and GPS technologies, vehicular ad-hoc networks and mobile applications. The implementation of an automatic road accident detection and information communication system in every vehicle is very crucial. This paper presents a brief review on automatic road accident detection techniques used to save affected persons.
