Abstract

Reliable and precise signal transmission is required for actual and future devices using nanotechnologies. We consider the hammock networks as they were introduced by Moore and Shannon in 1956. Some devices array-based (switches, FinFETs and other nanotransistors) are perfect fit to modeling using hammock networks. This paper brings a fresh approach on modelling and understanding the 3D hammock networks. In this new approach we start from the definition of 2D hammock networks offered by Moore-Shannon and then we took inspiration from our previous models made for 2.5D, respectively 3D hammock networks. We analyze them in order to evaluate their reliability, and in the end we compare the previous results obtained with our fresh results. The source of inspiration for this paper is the structure found inside axons. The simulations proposed relay on reliability polynomials. In the end we compare the results obtained for reliability of 3D hammock networks for different scenarios and present some future directions to be studied in our research.
