Building large distributed software systems using objects

Abstract

Large product or service organizations have attempted or are attempting to build large scale distributed software systems using objects. This paper summarizes the current conclusions of a workshop on building such systems, as viewed from the perspective of practitioners and researchers in this area. The participants concluded that although objects do help in managing the complexity in building such large systems, current object technology does not address many of the critical issues,
