Abstract
The design and experimental results of a 300 GHz folded waveguide traveling-wave tube (TWT) are presented. The folded waveguide was designed for operation with a 10.8 kV electron beam and fabricated using a nano-CNC machine. From the simulation results the gain of the designed TWT is approximately 35 dB. Sever wedges were designed and fabricated using Ceradyne Ceralloy 137CD-1 which was tested using quasi-optical measurement system. The pillbox type RF window was designed, fabricated, and tested. The performance of the electron gun was evaluated; beam current is higher than 100 mA at beam voltage of 11 kV. More experiments are under progress.
