Abstract

The main objective of this study was to investigate the influence of leakage inductance of different types of induction machines on the resulting torque characteristic. The study was focused on three phase induction machines that are most often used in the industry with special emphases on the induction machine configuration with squirrel cage rotor. Based on the known analytical solutions the leakage inductance components were calculated for different types of stator and rotor geometry slots and winding profiles.
