Abstract

Optical spin orientation has been reported in $\pmb{Ge}_{1-x}\pmb{Sn}_{x}$ alloys unveiling group IV materials as promising candidates for spin-optoelectronic devices. Here we point out that magneto-optical investigations can be leveraged to determine the spin and carrier lifetime without utilizing a time-resolved apparatus.
