On the basis of the comprehensive analysis of the climatic factors of the Extreme North and the influence of these factors on the reliability of the aircraft units and systems’ functioning in the actual operating conditions the classification of the kinds of failures was made, presented by six groups of events, conditioned by the state of the prolonged aircraft operation in the extreme conditions of the Extreme North and the Arctic regions. In order to evaluate the influence of the climatic factors on the reliability of the aircraft systems it was suggested to use stability coefficient of each element of the system, on the basis of which the estimation of the distribution of the events in flight, related to the functional elements’ failure, was made. Abstract

The basic global geophysical cyclic processes, which are forming climatic conditions on the Earth, are heat exchange, moisture exchange and the general circulation of atmosphere.
