The purpose of the Diponegoro Education Reservoir is to control the flood in Diponegoro University area, a tourist attraction, and for educational and research facilities at Diponegoro University. A sports center will be built in the Diponegoro Education Reservoir area for equipped the facilities at Diponegoro University. The Diponegoro University Education Reservoir has a normal waterlogging area of 13,500 m2. This reservoir has the potential to be used as a floating photovoltaic of 1,846 kWp and can be used to supply at Diponegoro University sports center.
