Lab versus lectures: can lab-based practical sessions improve Nursing students’ learning of Bioscience?

Abstract

With funding through Birmingham City University (BCU) Student Academic Partnership scheme and an HEA individual Teaching Development Grant, members of the Health Sciences Department at BCU are currently working in partnership with student nurses, nurse educators and Trust representatives to design and develop an initial set of laboratory practical sessions (with supporting online resources) to pilot and evaluate in the pre-registration Nursing curriculum.
