Lines, patterns and color of mask-like facial makeup indicate the traits and dispositions of the characters, such as loyalty, wickedness, righteousness, and evilness, as well as the norms of interpersonal relationships in the Chinese culture and society. This study aims to explore the mask-like facial makeup of Chinese Beijing Opera, analyze the meanings of different masks, establish the designing rules based on expert opinions, and apply such designing rules to fashion design. Abstract
