Abstract

The problem of automatic analysis of X-ray images of large reinforced concrete structures is considered. The aim is to improve the accuracy of the evaluation of the shape and size of projections of internal cracks in the armature. The analysis is based on the classification of image elements by brightness threshold. In this case, it is complicated by the fact that the image has low contrast. To increase it, it is proposed to use an entropy filter whose window size is consistent with the noise level in the image. The study, including a computational experiment, confirmed the effectiveness of the proposed method.
