The Prospects of Using a Synchronous Machine with Permanent Magnets in the Oil Industry

Abstract

A Synchronous machine with permanent magnets as an electric drive for a borehole pumping unit is preferable to asynchronous machines. For the proof, models of a synchronous and an asynchronous machine were used in the program Matlab (Simulink), in order to compare energy consumption and identify more energy-efficient equipment.
