VTAC is believed to be the first traffic model developed using the object-oriented paradigm. The principles used in the new model's design and the preliminary results obtained to-date are described. Abstract

Many traffic simulation models have been developed over the years; however, most existing models are not well-suited for evaluating Intelligent Vehicle/Highway Systems (IVHS) concepts.
