Future for religious heritage and the benefits of European cooperation.

Abstract

Abstract In 2011, the non-governmental and non-religious organization Future for Religious Heritage (FRH) was founded with the aim of 'promoting, encouraging and supporting the safeguard, maintenance, valorisation and use of places of worship as well as their content and history'. This chapter defines the issue of religious heritage in Europe, introduces the FRH and the benefits of international cooperation, and touches upon best practices among its members.
