Abstract

The article deals with the key problems of Vietnamese-American relations. An analysis is being made of American efforts aimed at turning Vietnam into its proxy ally acting against China and, accordingly, the efforts of the Vietnamese leadership to continue the policy of balancing between the two superpowers.
